Description

Brandt is currently seeking an Operations Manager- Material Processing for their Regina, SK location.  The Operations Manager is responsible for the strategic direction and leadership of the overall operations of the organization. In this role, the Operations Manager will effectively and efficiently manage the development and directions of the operational team to drive the growth of revenue and productivity while ensuring the integration of strategic plans with company operations. This includes establishing and leading a world class manufacturing operation which gives Brandt a clear competitive advantage and which consistently delivers high quality, timely products at the lowest possible cost.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Responsible for overall accountability of the material processing production system including materials management, on time deliveries and maximum throughput.
Develop and maintain a production schedule which optimizes plant efficiency based on customer requirements and shop constraints. This would include forecasts and long term planning
Forecast material requirements and work with Purchasing for the lowest cost materials which includes the cost of holding inventory
Review processes and material flow and implement cost saving opportunities.
Analyze plant/machine efficiency and labor cost against industry benchmarks and implement necessary changes.

Qualifications:
A minimum of 10 years experience working in a steel fabrication business with extensive knowledge of material processing equipment and practices.
Prior management experience and a sound understanding of business practices is required.
Knowledge of Brandt products and manufacturing processes.
Knowledge of Baan and other ERP computer systems.
