Job Description: The social work incumbent will be required to use high order knowledge, clinical expertise and strong interpersonal skills to research, develop, implement and evaluate best practice group treatments for acute and chronic mentally disordered children and youth. The incumbent will provide guidance and supervision to Child and Youth Services staff on the development of best practice models of care for common clinical presentations and will develop linkages across Mental Health/Addictions Services and the community to co-ordinate a client responsive approach to care. This position requires the ability to develop, implement and evaluate clinical pathways and programs based on best practices within a stepped care or tiered model of service delivery.
Required Qualifications
Valid Class 5 driver's license
Masters Degree in Social Work
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW)
Experience
DIRECT EXPERIENCE IN A MENTAL HEALTH CLINICAL SETTING FOR A PERIOD OF TWO YEARS MINIMUM, AND RELATED EXPERTISE IN WORKING WITH CHILDREN, YOUTH AND THEIR FAMILIES. KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE IN WORKING WITH CLIENTS AFFECTED BY A WIDE RANGE OF PSYCHIATRIC, RELATIONAL AND ADJUSTMENT DISORDERS.
Significant experience in the provision of direct treatment services to clients via group formats
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Intermediate computer skills
Knowledge of normal child and adolescent development and psychopathology
Knowledge of community resources and agencies within the Prince Albert Parkland Health Region, surrounding communities and First Nations reserves
Knowledge of the Mental Health Services Act and other legislation relevan
