Description

The Ministry of Corrections and Policing is accepting applications for skilled and responsible individuals to work part-time at the Pine Grove Correctional Centre.

The Ministry pursues a fair justice system that upholds the law and protects the rights of all individuals in Saskatchewan; promotes safe and secure communities; and provides legal and justice policy advice to assist government. Corrections and Policing is seeking candidates who are honest, have integrity, will treat everyone with dignity and respect, be committed to the pursuit of excellence, exhibit leadership and professionalism, embrace diversity and equality and be responsible and accountable.

The Correctional Center requires individuals who will commit to their counseling, case management and custody roles with adult female clients. We are seeking candidates who have excellent communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills, and have good work ethics, and can work well in a team environment. These skills are required to ensure the job is performed in a safe, co-operative and effective manner.

The Pine Grove Correctional Centre in Prince Albert is a facility for women only. Since this position requires daily contact with the female residents in the living quarters, this competition is restricted to female applicants. Corrections and Public Safety relies on Section 48 of the Saskatchewan Human Rights Code to give preference in employment for this position.

The successful completion of an Induction Training Program which will be physically demanding will be required to maintain employment. Proof of CPR and First Aid training is required within three months of employment. A valid driver's license is required to transport offenders in emergent situations.
