Description

The Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sports mission is to enhance economic growth and support quality of life by managing the provincial parks system and providing recreation, sport, heritage and cultural opportunities for residents and visitors.  The Ministry is currently seeking a dynamic and highly motivated individual who is a flexible team player for the position of Park Maintenance Worker for provincial park lands within Buffalo Pound Provincial Park of Saskatchewan Parks Service.  Reporting to the Supervisor, this seasonal position (May-September) will be involved in the maintenance program.

As a Park Maintenance Worker you will perform a variety of repair and general maintenance activities on buildings and grounds.  Operate light to medium equipment such as light trucks, riding mower, skid steer, power tools and other equipment as directed.  You will perform janitorial and sanitation functions, pick up and disposal of garbage and debris.  Assist with maintenance and care of park facilities and grounds.  You will assist with the monitoring and inspection of the water systems and sewer systems under the direction of the supervisor.  This position involves frequent lifting, carrying and moving supplies and equipment. Comply with risk management standards, OH&S, Public Health Regulations, WHMIS, TDG.  Candidate must possess a current valid Drivers License.  Candidate must be available to work on evenings and weekends. This position may be required to supervise staff.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of basic cleaning methods (materials, equipment and methods commonly used in housekeeping/janitorial and sanitation activities); safe equipment and building operation, maintenance and minor repair.  You will have knowledge of WHMIS and OH&S Regulations.
