Facility: Brief and Social Detox Unit
Job Description: Reporting to the Manager of Brief & Social Detox this position will be responsible for overall Program Coordination of Detox Services. This includes daily coordination, staffing, and provision of all programming. Duties will also involve providing clinical supervision, counseling, case and file management, community liaison, as well as organization of training, in-services and orientation of new staff.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Chemical Dependency studies or another Bachelor Degree acceptable to the employer
Experience
Two years of recent experience as Addictions Counselor.
Supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
Advanced interpersonal skills
Advanced organizational skills
Knowledge of the Addictions specific Twelve Core Functions
Supervisory skills
Case management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of community resources in the addictions field
Ability to deliver workshops and lecture material to clients and community
Demonstrated ability to conduct individual and group counselling/educational programs
Ability to be self-directed, creative, and collaborative, in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Crisis management skills
Ability to accurately assess addictions and/or addiction related issues and make appropriate recovery plans and referrals

Field Hours
Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement.  HSAS seniority
