Job Description: The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support services to the Employee Benefits team members, to our member organizations and internal customers.
Working as part of the Administrative Services Team, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for processing daily mail, preparing and sending written correspondence, and photocopying/scanning file documents. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for maintaining both Disability and Benefit file storage.
Experience
Two to four years' experience in an office environment, providing adminstrative support.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Organizational skills
Ability to assume responsibility and work independently
Ability to identify root cause of issues and develop/recommend solutions.
Ability to manage time and set personal goals and priorities to achieve department results.
Ability to work efficiently and effectively as part of a cross functional team.
Able to manage conflict in real time and focus on solutions as opposed to laying blame
Attention to detail
Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite and related software
Prior experience in benefit administration, life insurance administration, or general office administration would be an asset.
Must be a competent writer and have the ability to communicate with peers and customers effectively to meet work objectives
Ability to understand customer needs and identify improvement opportunities
Other Information
Knowledge of lean processes would be considered an asset
