Job Description: Under the direction of the program manager and working within an interdisciplinary mental health and addiction team, the Community Mental Health Nurse, in adherence to nursing practice standards, will provide a range of clinical services to a population of children, youth and families living with acute and persistent mental health disorders.  The Community Mental Health Nurse will be accountable for the provision of screening, assessment, referral, case management, treatment, as well as, program development and evaluation.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing or Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA) or Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of Saskatchewan (RPNAS)
Requires a minimum of two years (post graduate) recognized experience in a mental health setting working with children, youth and families presenting with acute and chronic mental health problems
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Organizational skills
Knowledge of normal child and adolescent development and psychopathology
Must be able to establish and adjust priorities in accordance with competing demands and complex issues
Ability to implement a variety of evidence based intervention strategies (individual or group) for individuals with mental health and addiction problems in a community based setting
Knowledge of community psychiatric nursing clinical standards of practice and the ability to develop and ensure compliance of those standards related to a community mental heath setting
Knowledge of the diversity of cultures, values and traditions and their impact on accessing menta
