Facility: COMMUNITY HEALTH (MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES)
Job Description: As a member of the Addiction Services Program team, and under the direct supervision of the Coordinator of Regional Addiction Services, the primary goal of this position will be to restore, maintain and enhance the recovery of people seeking help with substance dependency problems by implementing various modalities of addiction recovery therapies. Responsibilities include providing informational programming as well as individual and group counselling sessions with couples, relevant family and community members. This position will be expected to assess individual and group needs of clients and implement plans to assist clients reach their goals.
Required Qualifications

Valid Class 5 driver's license
Chemical Dependency diploma
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of addictions screening and assessment tools and procedures
Effective oral and written communication skills
Leadership abilities and professional maturity to develop and maintain consulting relationships within a multidisciplinary team, interagency programs and across Mental Health and Addiction Services and the community
Ability and willingness to travel and work flexible hours including evenings/weekend as required
Ability to demonstrate knowledge in addictions and their effects on the family unit
Ability to accurately assess addictions and make appropriate recovery plans
Knowledge of group dynamics
Demonstrated knowledge of a holistic addiction treatment model and the developmental model of recovery (DMR)
Knowledge of community resources in the addictions field
Knowledge of best practices in the addictions field and harm reduction strategies including the S
