Description

Under the supervision of the Construction Supervisor, the Construction Foreman will supervise and participate in the execution of landscape maintenance and construction projects.

DUTIES
1.Supervise the work of a single seasonal crew of unskilled and semi-skilled construction labourers and serve as work leader. Occasionally supervise the work of two crews (4-10 people) if another foreman is away.  
2.Provide general orientation and training of new employees.
3.Attend to the delivery of labour and materials provided for construction and maintenance projects. This includes the construction, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of buildings, equipment, tools, structures, furnishings, signs and landscape amenities.
4.Safeguard tools, equipment and other property used in the construction projects undertaken by crews.
5.Maintain daily time records for each member of the crew and report to the Construction Supervisor.
6.Provide a safe work environment for self and supervised staff, including meeting all Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
7.Perform other similar duties as assigned from time to time.

Other Related Skills or Requirements
Experience in a supervisory role.
The ability to follow oral and written instructions and perform strenuous manual labour for lengthy periods.
Must be able to perform heavy physical work in outdoor conditions.
Knowledge of the Occupational Heath and Safety requirements related to this position.
A valid driver's license.
An acceptable Criminal Record Check Report, including a vulnerable sector check, is required prior to appointment to the position.
Training in Standard First Aid, CPR-B and AED, occupational health and safety, and/or equipment operation is an asset. Please provide a list of such training with dates.
WHMIS training will be provided.
