Facility: Saskatchewan Cancer Agency
Job Description: As a member of the Corporate Services Division management team, the Director of Public Affairs is responsible for the development and oversight of comprehensive public affairs and communication strategies for the Agency. Working collaboratively with a small team, our candidate of choice will develop and implement Agency wide communication strategy, the development of policies, procedures and standards to ensure information on Agency programs and services is provided to the staff, public, media and other audiences in a timely, accurate and effective manner.
Our candidate of choice will possess a Bachelors degree preferably in Communications along with a minimum of 5 years experience in media relations/public relations. Significant experience and / or knowledge in communication techniques, methods, standards, mediums, equipment and software. A combination of education, training and experience may also be considered.

Our Candidate will have the following skills:
" Ability to design, implement, manage and evaluate strategic communication plans.
" Professional writing and presentation skills.
" Has acted in the capacity of spokesperson in former roles.
" Must possess a high degree of confidentiality, discretion and sound judgment.
" Ability to work independently and participate as a leader/contributing member of a team to ensure goals and objectives are met.
" Ability to identify and frame key issues and messages by gathering, analyzing and integrating conflicting and sometimes incomplete information from numerous sources.
" Ability to lead through building a collaborative team environment, coaches and develops individuals to produce results through team.
" Ability to enable the process of change and transition, helps others deal with the effects of change.
" Excellent interpersonal skills, verb
