Description

SARBI is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing psychosocial rehabilitation and recreational services for acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Survivors.  The goal at SARBI is to enhance ABI Survivors quality of life by providing programs that help them adjust to a new lifestyle after their injuries.  The opportunity for our clients to participate in various beneficial programs also aids in social skill development, gaining awareness and knowledge, increased self-confidence & of course, creating a safe environment where they feel comfortable and can be themselves.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-  Follow direction of SARBI Staff to gain knowledge & understanding about unique client needs.
-  Help/Assist clients with any washroom related needs during their program time at SARBI.
-  Support clients ability to participate in the program & always have a client-centered approach.
-  Program set-up & clean-up duties; Wednesdays supervise & assist clients with lunch.
-  Support program goals of social skill development, increasing opportunity to learn & independence.

ASSETS FOR SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES:
-  Have experience working in a care/support role with people with disabilities (nurse, care aid, etc.).
-  Committed, mature & caring person who can be a positive support for our participants.
-  Willingness to be Adaptable; Creative; Open minded; Supportive; Open to constructive feedback.
-  Reliable and committed to their position.

HOURS/WEEK:  9 hours

WORK SCHEDULE:  MONDAY, WEDNESDAY & FRIDAY  8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (3 hours)

START DATE:  Friday, March 1st, 2019
