Particular focus will be on fulfilling the new strategic plan of the MJHS; a plan which includes a concentrated effort on connecting with both traditional and new fundraising channels to provide a source of funding for the construction of a new facility. Within that framework, the Director will play a leadership role in formulating ideas and executing strategies surrounding tangible facility planning, development, and construction. The Director reports directly to, and collaboratively works with, the governance Board of Directors, to build the profile of the organization, improve shareholder satisfaction, and advance the new strategic goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
-manage, mobilize, and motivate personnel in a non-union environment
-set, enforce, and manage standard procedures and protocols for shelter facility operational processes
-ensure that preventative maintenance of the building and grounds is performed per maintenance schedules
-work to improve customer service and shareholder/volunteer satisfaction
-build strong relationships with community stakeholders, and liaison with government organizations and other external agencies
-procure supplies and inventory using established purchasing procedures
-negotiate and execute contracts with outside agencies
-implement operational and financial efficiencies; prepare annual budget
-achieve excellence in raising funds for the highest priorities
-foster community and media relations
Job Requirements:
-university degree, or post-secondary certification/diploma from an accredited educational institution
-previous applicable management experience
-ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work, while multi-tasking, and navigating tight deadlines
-exceptional written and verbal communication, enhancing team building
-understanding of business planning and processes
-ability to maintain confidentiality and utilize problem solving skills
