Description

Gateway Co-operative Association Ltd. invites applications for the position of Yard Attendant to join our team at our Home Centre in Preeceville, SK.

Duties:

-To be responsible for providing legendary customer service to all customers while being knowledgeable about lumber and all other building materials.
-To deliver building materials to customers within town limits as well as rural areas, in an efficient and safe manner by ensuring all orders are accurately filled and all loads are securely fastened.
-To load and load material safely including strapping down loads to truck and trailer
-Accurately record customer transactions and operate the point of sale system
-To provide a neat, clean and well merchandised environment at all times.
-To perform exterior and interior housekeeping and maintenance duties including keeping the yard, warehouse and public areas neat and clean.
-To operate and maintain all equipment and tools (including saws, delivery vehicles, forklifts, etc) in a safe and responsible manner.
-To come to work with a positive, professional approach and attitude.
-To be familiar with and adhere to Gateway Co-op policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

-Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, outgoing and energetic personality.
-Valid Class 5 Drivers licence
-Knowledge of lumber and building materials an asset
-Power mobile equipment certification (training can be provided)
-Excellent customer service skills.
-Ability to multi-task.
-A desire and ability to work with the public.
-Ability to work independently and also in a team setting.
-Physically able to do heavy lifting of 60lbs.
-Ability to work all scheduled shifts including weekends
