Duties and Responsibilities:
-To be responsible for providing legendary customer service to all customers while maintaining a high level of knowledgeable about lumber and all other building materials.
-Prepare, implement and be responsible for the sales, margins, expenses, inventory and productivity of the Building Materials Department.
-Ensure merchandising, product and facility image are at the highest standards
-Provide leadership and direction to employees in accordance with company policies and procedures
-In accordance with departmental budget; schedule department staff to meet production and customer service needs in an efficient manner.
-Responsible for supervision and delegation of employees workflow and duties
-To complete reviews on Team Members and plan, monitor and review Team Member performance as it relates to the Performance Management process.
-Responsible for the enforcement of Gateway Co-op policies and procedures as well as ensuring the staff are adhering to them.
-To come to work with a positive, professional approach and attitude.
-To be familiar with and adhere to Gateway Co-op policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
-Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, outgoing and energetic personality.
-Strong customer service skills
-Supervisory and delegation experience
-Capable of attaining high levels of production with minimum supervision
-Experience leading a team to effectively achieve the goals of the department and the retail.
-Positive attitude toward safety and toward continuous professional development
-Excellent leadership, interpersonal, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills
-Ability to foster a culture focused on safety and teamwork
-Knowledge of lumber and building materials
-Power mobile equipment certification (training can be provided)
-Physically able to do heavy lifting of 60lbs.
