The Saskatchewan Roughriders are seeking a high caliber leader for the role of Director, Communications. As a senior leader, the Director, Communications will play a key role in building, enhancing and protecting the reputation of the Saskatchewan Roughriders brand and football team while helping drive business results through day-to-day management of the teams key media and communications functions.
This role will be a relationship builder, serving as a media relations strategist and communications expert for Riders leadership and players, including the head coach and general manager. This high-profile, fast-paced and challenging opportunity requires strong communications leadership and organization skills in order to set a clear vision for the Club, build detailed communication, media relations and messaging strategies, manage day-to-day media relationships and bring collaborative thinking to the entire organization. They will play a key role in preparing athletes and executives for successful, authentic interactions with local and national media, as well as fans and other important audiences.
The role requires an innovative mindset, passion for football, ability to deliver new ways of thinking and approaching the communications function, and the ability to build relationships with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders.
