Facility: Community Services - Rosetown Health Centre
Job Description: Within the boundaries of the Heartland Health Region the Centralized Intake Worker will be the initial contact person for all inquiries and new requests, for Mental Health and Addictions Services. They will assess the urgency and respond in a timely and professional manner, accessing which service program is best suited to meet the client's needs, and set up the first appointment with the appropriate counselor. The goal is to ensure equitable and seamless access to the most appropriate resource within the region.
Required Qualifications

Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW)
Bachelor Degree in Social Work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience
Experience in counseling and assessment, Mental Health and Addictions, Family Service, or Intake Services.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Organizational skills
Public relations skills
Effective oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of the Mental Health Services Act and other legislation relevant to the provision of Mental Health services (i.e. Family Services Act)
Ability to demonstrate professional conduct and judgement and ethical behaviour
Computer skills including Microsoft Office word processing and spreadsheets, email and internet
Ability to understand and appreciate rural service delivery
Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with professionals, para professionals and other service providers
Knowledge of human growth and behaviour, relationship counseling, the family life cycle, systems theory and family violence theory
Sound knowledge of counseling
