The Rural Municipality of South QuAppelle No. 157 is currently accepting applications for the position of Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for a one-year maternity leave.
Council would like the successful candidate to train for approximately 4-6 weeks with the CAO prior to her maternity leave, depending on education and experience. Therefore, the potential start date would be between May 27th, 2019 and June 10th, 2019. The CAOs last working day will be July 5th, 2019.
The RM has a population of 1,275, which includes two Organized Hamlets and one Unorganized Hamlet. The RM encompasses the urban municipalities of McLean and QuAppelle, with the RM Office located in McLean. McLean is located along the TransCanada Highway and is approximately 42 km east of Regina.
The successful candidate will report to Council and work cooperatively with Council. The successful candidate will also work closely with the Foreman and outside employees.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Certificate in Local Government Authority or equivalent;
- A minimum Rural Class C Certificate and be a current member of the RMAA;
- Experience with budgeting, financial operations, assessment, taxation and general office management;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Excellent organization skills;
- Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft programs;
- Experience with MuniSoft software is an asset.
