Description

The Vice-Principal's role is a key leadership position, forming an integral part of an educational team providing shared, critical leadership within our educational community. Strong consideration will be given to candidates who have completed their Masters or are enrolled in graduate work. The Vice-Principal will be an instructional leader with the ability to engage & empower teachers to improve their pedagogy. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to work effectively within teams, collaborate with colleagues, will have a focus on lifelong learning for continuous improvement, & will develop effective relationships with staff, students, families & all stakeholders within the community.

Westberry Elementary School has an enrolment of approximately 387 students for the 2019/20 school year. The teaching assignment will be determined in consultation with the Principal.

We are seeking a professional who can demonstrate:
interpersonal, communication & leadership skills to lead the total school community towards a common vision of teaching & learning excellence
a leadership style characterized by collaborative decision-making & high visibility in the school with both students & teachers
proven teaching & administrative abilities at the K to 12 levels
a positive image of school to the community
experience working with children with diverse needs
excellent organizational skills
a history of positive relations with students, parents & staff
a working knowledge of computer technology
a proven ability to work with all partners to establish clear goals & direction
an ability to develop & maintain a safe & orderly learning environment
an ability to establish & maintain links with the community
a focus on student achievement
