Description

General Sandblasting & Painting Ltd. is located in Regina.  We provide surface preparation and protective coating/painting services to a diverse range of clients in the petrochemical, oil & gas, manufacturing, mining and industrial sectors.

We are looking for an energetic and detail-oriented Safety Coordinator.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain safety/training database & records
- Maintain ISNetworld registration & requirements
- Support companys safety management program
- Manage the safety/training schedule and PPE purchasing
- Assume other responsibilities as required

Our ideal candidate will:
- Have some recognized education and/or training in safety (or related field) combined with at least 2 years of experience
- Identify best practices, lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices
- Work effectively with minimal supervision and be self-motivated
- Possess effective interpersonal, communication and organization skills
- A background in occupational safety is preferred, but not required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience & familiarity with the COR Program, Saskatchewan WCB and OH&S regulations
- Valid tickets in WHMIS, confined space, first aid
- Self-motivated, able to prioritize workload, meet deadlines & be highly organized
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs Excel, Word, Outlook
- Experience in development & delivery of training curriculum
- Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record & able to travel on occasion

** Candidates MUST be able to pass a drug & alcohol test **
