Summary of Role: As a member of the Pool Department the Pool Attendant/Life Guard is responsible for the supervision, safety and comfort of our guests, ensuring an exceptional guest experience.
Impact & Influence on Guests, Associates and Business
Provide professional, respectful and friendly customer service at all times, whether responding to guest inquiries/concerns or correcting guest behaviour
Conduct opening and closing duties
Responsible for overall cleanliness of pool and recreational areas
Understand and comply with hotel emergency procedures and policies
Report maintenance and or equipment failure concerns to Manager
Provide supervision and ensure guests adhere to all safety guidelines and rules
Ensure pool areas comply with provincial health and safety standards through water testing, chemical handling and preventative maintenance
Knowledge of department cleaning products; this includes complying with all safe handling procedures and wearing required PPE as necessary
Conduct on the job training to new associates as required
Other duties as assigned
Education, Experience, and Skills
Valid First Aid/CPR/AED
Swimming Pool Operators Certificate; or must be willing to attend within first six months (SK)
Pool operators and Red Cross Lifeguard training an asset (ALB/ONT)
Bronze Cross or National Lifeguard award (SK/ONT)
