Description

Maintain up to date printed and online information on community resources, government agencies, community based organizations, and businesses and provide such information to all clients
Answer general questions from newcomers
Direct and assist newcomers in locating and accessing relevant online and/or printed materials and resources
Assist newcomers with booking and scheduling appointments with ECNWC staff
Conduct initial interviews to determine eligibility to ECNWCI programs
Assist clients to complete the Application for Services and needs assessment
Organize, coordinate and facilitate social groups activities designed for newcomers such as International Women of Yorkton and Area, and informational sessions and forums  
Create client files (on database and hard copies) and keep information updated
General office/clerical duties including: answering phones, photocopying, proof reading, assisting staff and clients with computer and other office equipment, keeping the Newcomer Events Calendar up to date, keeping some statistical reports, keeping minor financial records, doing errands
Assist ED with preparation for meetings and other duties including taking meeting minutes
Education:
Certificate or diploma in office administration and at least one (1) year of related work experience
Experience:
Minimum 1 year experience in assisting newcomers with settlement issues
Knowledge of immigration system and community resources
Knowledge, understanding and sensitivity to issues affecting immigrants and refugees
Good organizational and time management skills
Fluency in second language is considered an asset
Good computer skills and knowledge of social media
Valid Saskatchewan Drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle is a must
