Organize, coordinate and facilitate social groups activities designed for newcomers such as International Women of Yorkton and Area, and informational sessions and forums
Ensure activity attendees are fully participating during each activity
Prepare materials and documents required for various activities
Keeping tract of participant attendance
This job requires working evenings and some weekends
Work hours: maximum of 10 hours per month
Education:
Certificate or diploma in Office Administration, Events Coordination, Activity Worker and at least one (1) year of related work experience
Experience:
Minimum 1 year experience in assisting newcomers with settlement issues
Knowledge of community resources and recreational, sports and leisure activities
Demonstrated cross-cultural communication skills
Knowledge, understanding and sensitivity to issues affecting immigrants
Good organizational and time management skills
Ability to multi-task
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and in a team environment
Fluency in second language is considered an asset
Good computer skills and knowledge of social media
Valid Saskatchewan Drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle is a must
