Description

Our Hydrometric program produces information that helps the Province forecast and respond to floods and drought, and is used in all scales of infrastructure projects, from deciding the size of culverts required in a road, to major bridge and dam construction. We are searching for an enthusiastic individual to join a team of technical and professional staff performing this important work.  

As the leader of the Hydrometric team some of the duties you will be responsible for are to manage the regulatory provisions of The Water Security Agency Act, which requires the issuance of decisions and orders on water disputes (formal complaints) and the issuance of water rights and approval of water works.  You will oversee the regions issues management and water resource and environmental management responsibilities and activities ensuring general correspondence is prepared and responses to Minister and client inquiries are promptly handled.  You will participate in the resolution and reconciliation of regional water concerns of various government organizations, municipal governments, private sector agencies, special interest groups and individuals and recommend and/or approve water resource development project approvals.

The successful candidate should possess a Degree in Engineering or related discipline, a license to practice professional engineering from the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS), and 8 years of progressively more responsible directly related experience in hydrologic and watershed analysis, and in assessment of river, lake and reservoir hydraulics, flood forecasting and infrastructure management.
