Grasslands News Group, publisher of The Melville Advance, Whitewood & Grenfell Herald Sun and the Fort QuAppelle Times, is seeking reporter/photographers eager to work in a regional newsroom environment.
Ideally, the successful candidates would have weekly newspaper experience, but we are willing to work with and train someone who wants to work in the community news industry in east-central Saskatchewan.
The successful applicants will have strong writing and digital photography skills, and the ability to manage news coverage independently and by assignment with the editor. Digital camera gear provided. Company vehicle is available for work travel. Good knowledge of CP style is essential.
The beat will include but will not be limited to: coverage of local government, community sports, education and health issues, and people.
The successful candidates will work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends and could be covering stories in communities where we are located and surrounding communities as well.
