Description

We have immediate openings for hard-working individuals to fill full-time General Labourer/Helper positions.

This position is responsible for assisting abrasive blasters/industrial painters in the completion of their daily tasks, prepping materials for blasting/painting, general housekeeping duties, clean-up for painting/coating, material handling and any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Tasks are primarily physical labour and outdoors and are subject to dust, fumes and noise (appropriate PPE is supplied)  and may involve confined space tasks and working at heights.

Successful candidates will have a valid Class 5 (or greater) drivers license, and meet the physical requirements to perform average lifting up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 70 pounds.  Preference will be given to candidates who have VALID SCOT, Confined Space and other relevant safety tickets.

Applicants must be flexible and available for unscheduled overtime, rotating shifts and/or night shifts.

Applicants MUST obtain negative results upon completion of pre-access drug & alcohol screening and be able to provide a current criminal record check.

Ideal candidate qualities include:
- Willingness to work as an effective team player
- Fluent English (verbal and comprehension) required  especially verbal as radio communication is involved
- Ability to follow tasks safely and efficiently
- Understanding and compliance with minimum HSE requirements
- Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors and company employees, as well as the ability to work efficiently with little or no supervision.
