Indigenous Gaming Regulators (IGR) is seeking an experienced Indigenous business leader to provide strategic direction and leadership to ensure the sustainability of IGR as a credible, accountable First Nations Gaming Regulator within the Province of Saskatchewan.
Role:
Responsible for the successful development and implementation of policies and strategic initiatives supporting IGRs direction.
Establish strategic engagement with SIGA, federal and provincial governments, Indigenous organizations, financial institutions, law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders.
Responsible for initiating, developing, negotiating and promoting integrated inter-agency solutions in support of First Nations gaming licensing authority in Saskatchewan.
Provide proactive leadership to anticipate and identify issues and opportunities that will impact the gaming industry and IGR; and recommend innovative solutions to on reserve jurisdictional initiatives.
Oversee all areas of the corporation (financial management, IT, HR, audit and inspection, licensing and communications) ensuring resources and plans are aligned with IGRs mandate, goals and objectives.
Advance inherent and treaty rights of Saskatchewan First Nations.
Selection Criteria:
Masters Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Public Administration, Law with a minimum of seven years experience in management positions.
Knowledge of the culture, customs, aspirations, traditions and governance of First Nations.
Knowledge of all aspects of the provincial gaming industry including legislation, funding protocols, governance systems and regulatory bodies.
Proven experience establishing and sustaining effective relationships, partnerships and networks with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Ability to build cohesive teams and inspire dedicated staff.
Experience in board governance.
