Description

The primary function of this position is to: evaluate the inventory in the warehouse and, based on velocities, weights and measures, make decisions that improve picking efficiencies by physically reworking shelves and/or relocating product into different zones. As well, clean/face/replenish the stock in primary bins from overstock bins as needed. The primary goal of this position is to: ensure the correct amount of product is in an optimum location for pickers while minimizing bin space used to store the product. Effectively using product labels, and overstock locations, in order to increase the daily throughput of the warehouse team while ensuring that shelves/racks are well stocked, faced, neat and clean.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with Winsol (Inventory/Order Entry/Sales software) and MS Excel to filter and sort reporting.
Identify items that need larger or smaller bin space allocations and physically make the changes.
Identify improperly placed or slow moving items for relocation to another bin.
Reflow items in warehouse to make room for new products coming in or remove labeling for discontinued items.
Add or remove beams/shelves at varying heights in both racking and shelving.
Ensure products sold in small units are stored in a box on the shelf with proper labeling.
Create and maintain labels for all bins and ensure they are visible and legible.
Assess product locations based on picking mistakes or overly similar items, and relocate as necessary to reduce mistakes.
Ensure proper rotation of products with expiry dates following FIFO.
Collapse all boxes used during restocking and set aside for reuse later.
Monitor inventory in all stationery bins and replenish from overstock as needed.
Operate forklift to access overstock in racking and bring down.
Fill the primary bins with appropriate amount of stock based on demand.
Ensure picking bins have the appropriate amount of single units out for pickers.
Other tasks as directed by Supervisor.
