Project/Program Manager
Possess a good working knowledge of all First Nations cultures within Canada and maintain respect for all First Nations cultures, values, practices, traditions including spirituality and community life on the reserve.
Required:
A BISW or BSW or Business Admin degree from a recognized university;Minimum of five (5) years direct experience in youth therapeutic centre operations, and community aftercare services and/or an equivalent of training and experience;
Knowledge of family dynamics, child/youth development, substance misuse, family violence, the effects of child abuse and maltreatment on child/youth development; the impacts of historical events on First Nations families;
Demonstrated knowledge /experience in assessment, referral networks, community development, and intervention.
Familiarity with goals and objectives of therapeutic needs and counselling methods.
Must be able to communicate clearly in English, both in writing and verbally.
Valid Drivers License.
Must undergo a Federal Criminal Record search and Child Abuse Registry check, the results of which may influence the decision to employ.
Knowledge of First Nations governance issues, federal, provincial policies and programs affecting or relevant to First Nations
