The Lands Manager plans and implements the Reserve Land and Environment Management Program (RLEMP) established by ISC with the goal to transition to The First Nation Land Management Act, and potentially, to the Delegated Authority Level. The position is responsible for meeting Indian Act requirements related to land transactions ensuring The Key First Nation is compliant with its fiduciary obligations.
This position is responsible to provide professional expertise, program direction, and operational and implementation for the short and long-term strategies of the Chief and Council. The Lands Manager is responsible for the development of annual budgets, overseeing the day to day operations, including monitoring lease agreements and overseeing permits through environmental lens and ensuring environmental compliance.
