Facility: COMMUNITY HEALTH (MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES)
Job Description: Reporting to the Regional Director of Mental Health & Addictions or his/her designate. The health educator staff will work closely with the Speech Language Pathologist in the delivery of community-based services to identified clients in the Former Sun Country Health Region.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in a health-related field or equivalent
Registered or eligible for registration with the appropriate licensing body
Experience
Communication Disorder treatment; child development; and Applied Behaviour Analysis.
Minimum 1 year post-graduate work experience desired, preferably in an outpatient setting providing direct clinical services to children with communication disorders. Experience providing direct clinical services to client groups. Demonstrated knowledge of normal and abnormal child development.

Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
Ability to communicate with and maintain an effective working relationship with clients from diverse social, economic and cultural backgrounds
Ability to demonstrate initiative, independent judgment and organizational skills
Ability and willingness to travel and work flexible hours including evenings/weekend as required
Ability to conduct client assessments and engage in effective treatment planning
Ability to apply the principles of community development
Ability to effectively counsel and work with individuals, families, and groups
Computer skills including Microsoft Office word processing and spreadsheets, email and internet
Demonstrates the ability to prioritize, interpret and respond appropriately t
