Description

HJR Asphalt LP is currently seeking a Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic to join the team.  The ideal candidate will have the ability to troubleshoot major and minor mechanical & electrical problems as well as have the ability to repair and adjust mechanical components.  The ideal candidate will be able to lead a team of workers, delegate appropriately, and supervise progress.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Ability to work on a variety of road construction equipment including pavers, rollers, skid-steers, wheel loaders and semi trucks/trailers.  
Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
Comfortable working on hydraulics, electrical, and pneumatic equipment
Source and order parts
Organize and delegate maintenance projects and shop workers
Communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills are essential
Travel around the province to job sites in the summer when needed.  Overtime a requirement during the summer.
Report to the Shop Maintenance Manager

Requirements:
Must possess a Journeymen Heavy Duty Mechanic ticket
5 years experience working directly on heavy equipment
Possess leadership and management skills
Computer skills and ability to read schematics
Possess a valid class 5 drivers license (class 1A would be an asset)
