Description

The City of Moose Jaw is seeking to fill our Traffic Signal Technician position. Under the direction of the Transportation Services Manager, the Traffic Signal Technician is responsible for carrying out the maintenance and installation of the City's various electronic equipment and systems, principally traffic control systems and radio communication systems.  

This position will perform the following duties:
-    Research and prepare Traffic/Parking Technical field investigation reports;
-    Test and replace traffic controller conflict monitors;
-    Ensure proper maintenance record is carried out on equipment, maintaining all tools and equipment;
-    Perform maintenance and repairs to various electrical and electronic equipment such as traffic counters, police cruiser lights and sirens, radar guns, burglar alarms, fire alarms, time clocks, scoreboards, public address systems, office equipment and parking meters;
-    Available to provide emergency service to radio communication systems and traffic controllers outside of normal working hours.

Qualified candidates will possess:
-    Grade 12 education supplemented by related two (2) years' Technical Diploma or suitable alternative;
-    Minimum 4 years' experience working with traffic signals;
-    Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices related to the installation and repair of traffic control systems;
-    Class 5 driver's license;
-    Physically fit and capable of tracing wires by colour.
