PRIMARY CARE PARAMEDIC
EMERGENCY COORDINATOR

Lac La Ronge Indian Band Health Services is now inviting applications for 1 Permanent Full Time, Primary Care Paramedic, Emergency Coordinator based out of the community of La Ronge. The ideal candidate will report to the Health Director and will be required to provide services to the Lac La Ronge Indian Band communities. This position is responsible for planning and preparing for emergencies that may arise in the LLRIB communities including but not limited to pandemics, evacuations, disasters, suicides, major accidents, etc.

Duties:
Responsible for providing Health and Safety for facilities based on industry standards.
Conduct ongoing Hazard and Risk Assessments, ensuring plans reflect community All Hazard Planning.
Support Health through all four emergency response pillars Preparedness, response, mitigation and recovery.
Update emergency response plans, and build contingency plans for 5 LLRIB communities
Prepare LLRIB Health Services and communities for unique contingencies such as evacuations;
Provide training for First Responders, First/Aid CPR, and Mask fit testing, etc., while maintaining documentation for Human Resources files.
Assist community First Responders groups in sustaining functional services in outlying communities.
Assist Health Mangers to develop, test and update emergency plans, procedures, policies, chronic lists, etc.
Maintain health surveillance of smoke/fire conditions and other emergencies.
Coordinate and increase community awareness of Basic Life support skills through First Aid/CPR and Public Access to Defibrillation training.
Coordinate health debriefings and lessons learned post impact.
Network with industry stakeholders and providers to keep communities abreast of industry changes and challenges;
Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or designate;
