Position Purpose: Haul heavy equipment to and from project sites.
Primary Goal: Efficient and safe transport of equipment.
Reports to: Fleet Manager

Key Duties:
- Perform regular maintenance including but not limited to setting up brakes, completing oil changes, tire changes, air pot and air line changes, greasing, washing and general maintenance of truck and trailer equipment;
- Self loading;
- Basic operation of all heavy equipment;
- Operation of trailers including, lowbed, highboy, and trombone;
- Identify opportunities for preventative maintenance on equipment, document, and follow up with a solution;
- Comply with G Ungar Construction procedures regarding safety when working on and with equipment (i.e. Lock Out/Tag Out, placarding and required documentation, safe work environment, etc.);
- Responsible for company tools and maintenance equipment used in performance of job duties, and safe operation;
- Maintain log book and perform morning walk arounds.
- Secure permitting and ensure legislative requirements are met.
Qualifications
- Minimum Grade 10 education;
- Class 1A license;
- Able to read and write legibly; able to follow orders; basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide); able to work with little direct supervision;
- Safe driving abstract;
- Heavy Equipment operation would be an asset.
