Job Description: The MDS coordinator will report to a Manager of Continuing Care or the Director of Clinical Integration Continuing Care.
Required Qualifications

Registered or eligible for registration with the Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of Saskatchewan (RPNAS) or Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA)
Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing preferred
Experience
General comprehension of assessment, classification, initiative and critical thinking
A minimum of five (5) years current experience in long term care, with a demonstrated ability to manage resources and projects
Staff development and training

The Coordinator manages the regional implementation and management of an automated health record for long term care including MDS. The incumbent is the primary contact for the MDS systems acting as a liaison with the facilities delivering long term care services. The Coordinator is a member of the provincial MDS Working Group. The Coordinator plays diverse roles within Integrated Rural Continuing Care that require the skills and abilities to think and act as a systems level and be a change agent within the organization.  The Coordinator must be able to advance ideas and work with individuals collaboratively at the senior management level, as well as build positive working relationships with other Saskatchewan Health Authority staff, affiliates, and other key stakeholders like provincial counterparts, Ministry of  Health, Canadian Institute for Health Information
