The Yorkton Tribal Council Child and Family Services (YTCCFS) Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic dedicated individual to fill the position of Communications Coordinator.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Communications Coordinator will direct, develop and facilitate the delivery of a comprehensive internal and external communications strategy to member First Nations communities and leadership, YTCCFS Inc. Board of Directors, other ICFS agencies, and the public at large. This position is responsible for overall communications management, including the development of strategies, standards, procedures and review. Also responsible for ensuring that the communications mandate is carried out, in accordance with the Yorkton Tribal Council Child and Family Services Inc. Member Nations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Thirty-six (36) months direct experience in a senior management communications position.
OR Four (4) year undergraduate degree in a related discipline AND twenty-four (24) months direct experience in a senior management communications position. OR Bachelor of Journalism and twelve (12) months experience in a senior management communications position.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of strategic communication planning and issue management
Knowledge of communication writing and editing for a variety of purposes and audiences
Knowledge of public and media relations
Knowledge of communication policies, procedures, and practices
Knowledge of the coordination and organization of public and media events.
Knowledge of the Cree, Nakota and Saulteaux Culture and the political and social objectives of the YTCCFS Inc. member First Nations.
Ability to analyze sensitive issues and make recommendations to the Executive Director.
Ability to review complex concepts and information and condense them into clear language.
Ability to develop communications programs to explain Child and Family Services initiatives and actions to diverse audiences.
