Duties:
Works in conjunction with the Justice Coordinators to achieve specific program duties (e.g. gang intervention, information sharing / networking, justice education etc.)
Coordinate YTC gatherings, meetings sessions or specific projects related to Restorative Justice or programming
Maintaining confidentiality with respect to delivery of Justice services
Keep in confidence all file information respecting victims and offenders, in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act and the Canadian Criminal Code
Conduct presentations, meetings with communities, schools and aboriginal groups to share information relating to programming and to ensure community commitment to community development for future Justice and crime prevention programming
Assist communities with program and/or project development
Justice Committee Training (mediation, circles, information etc.)
Case preparation reporting to Database
Gather and submitting all necessary documents for the purpose of statistical analysis
Keep records of offenders referred to the program as required by funding agencies
May be required to cover Court worker duties
Qualifications:
Must have a post-secondary education (diploma or degree) from an accredited justice related program and/or have a minimum of 2 years practical experience in the justice system. Knowledge in Victim Offender Mediation, Restorative Justice and Crisis Intervention is considered to be an asset.
Must have 2 years of prior experience working with the public, youth and adults.
Must be willing to travel and must possess a valid drivers license and reliable vehicle and must submit a current Criminal Record Check.
Work irregular or extended hours to complete special requests and/or projects
Must manage a number of people, priorities and projects at one time, and may have to respond to emergency or crisis situations
