Description

We are currently seeking an individual to join our team in Child protection. Candidate will work with our three communities: Big River First Nation, Pelican Lake First Nation and Witchekan Lake first Nation.
Qualifications:
    Minimum Bachelors of Indian social work (BISW) or Bachelors of social work (BSW).
    Minimum 3 years experience working in the field of Child Welfare.
    Knowledge of the Child and Family Services Act
    Knowledge of the Ministry of Social Services (MSS) policies and Indigenous and Northern Affairs of Canada (INAC) Policies.
    Knowledge and experience working wih computer programs (case systems, word, excel, etc)
    Must have excellent reading and writing skills that are essential for reporting.
    Knowledge and experience in assessment and case management.
    Maintain client records/files according to agency standards.
    Knowledge and understanding of trauma and how it relates to dysfunctional family systems.
    Knowledge and understanding of Cree culture and / language would be an asset.
    The ability to work individual and work collaboratively as part of a team
    A successful vulnerable sector check (CPIC) and a clean drivers abstract.
    Maintain a drug and alchohol free lifestyle whilc on ACCFS property and on duty.
    The candidate. Should be a flexable, reliable, mature and a compassionate professional who; has excellent communication skills, has an appreciation for diversity, possesses good judgment and problem solving skills, and committed to professional development.
Additional Information:
    37.5 hours per week  Monday through Friday ( May be required to work weekends, overtime, stat holidays)
    Mandatory 3-month probation period upon starting date.
    Salary based on qualifications and experience
    Reports to the Protection Supervisor
