Description

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Assist with the day to day operation of the house.
    Interact with other staff, parents, home support workers and visitors.
    Elicit good behavior of the children.
    Supervise and arrange activities to ensure proper mental, physical, social and spiritual development.
    Arrange and supervise child and parent visitation
    Be a sounding board for children with problems and provide the proper resources.
    Assist with scheduling activities, outings with the children.
    Transportation to appointments and visits.
    Participate in supervisory meetings/training appropriate for job duties.
    Be responsible for timely and accurate communication within program (incident reports, verbal reports shift documentation).
    Assist in preserving childrens culture by implementing childrens traditions or cultural activities.
    Consult daily with other caregivers to ensure needs of children are be met.
    The Family Support Worker will have a diverse skill-set to provide intensive support and guidance to families and children.
    Parenting, life skills, ensuring basic needs are met, help with domestic duties, and challenging parents to understand the affects their behavior on the family unit.
    The Family Support Worker will utilize a comprehensive practice model and tools, including family assessments.
    The Family Support Worker will build on existing family strengths, healthy habits and daily routines to increase capacity and family well-being long term.  Planning and goal setting will be developed in partnership with the family and their support team.
