Thank you.
We are a growing beekeeping operation with many years of experience. This past year we have branched out into many products that come from the beehive and have branded ourselves with the goal to become a distinguished producer and retailer of all things bees.
Our company is looking for an applicant who is keen to learn, be challenged, work hard, and grow with our business. Beekeeping duties include but are not limited to:
-Handling beehives
-Honey harvesting and extraction
-Honey packaging
-Management of colonies for disease/pests and overall health
The majority of the work involved will relate to beekeeping, however we are looking for applicants who can contribute further to the position and have skills and experience related to operations management; auto mechanics; and/or agriculture/breeding.
There is no prior beekeeping experience required, as all training will be provided on the job. The candidate must be physically fit and able to lift over 40 pounds frequently. The duties of the position will evolve over the course of the season and can be tailored to fit the skills and interests of the candidate. The candidate must be willing to be stung by bees regularly and ensure that they are not allergic to bee stings prior to accepting the position. All candidates must have a valid drivers license and access to transportation to get to our farm location (10 km north of Saskatoon city center), which is not accessible by public transit.
The candidate should own a pair of sturdy work boots.
Length of employment: May to August (can start earlier if available).
Please submit a resume and brief cover letter to Andrew Guran at buzz@threeforagers.ca. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
