Description

The mechanic will report to the Shop Foreman and will be responsible for repair of company equipment.  This involves the completion of the inspection, testing and diagnosing of electrical/hydraulic construction equipment for repair.  Candidate must have the drive and technical skills to ensure that the company equipment is properly maintained and serviced.
This position requires both indoor and outdoor work in all weather conditions.  May be required to work shift work and overtime.  Shifts are subject to change as per project schedules.
You must provide own tools.
Responsibilities:
Diagnosis and repair of all equipment.
Ensure all installations are completed in a timely manner, meeting project expectations and project time estimates.
Ensures that all equipment is ready and meets set quality and safety standards.
Operate and test equipment.
Must have valid Saskatchewan Drivers License.
In depth knowledge of equipment.
Ensure that every person is treated in the same fair and consistent manner and resolving issues as they arise.
Demonstrates leadership skills in daily work interaction.
Adhere to all Company safety standards.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Heavy Equipment Technician Journeyman/Certificate.
5+years experience in the service repair industry on heavy equipment.
Extensive knowledge of engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
Mechanical and mathematical aptitude.
Welding experience or Welding Ticket would be an asset.
A creative approach to problem solving, adaptability and flexibility.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Maintain a clean work area.
Attention to detail.
May be required to take drug and alcohol test.
