Emmons Trucking has been in business for over 30 years. We haul various aggregate products directly from gravel pits to roadwork, industrial, commercial and residential projects. Our shop is located near Caronport, SK and our primary work sites surround Moose Jaw, SK and Regina, SK (generally within 1 hour of these cities).
Role Overview
You will minimize equipment downtime to ensure our trucks and trailers are available to meet customer timelines. You will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of our fleet and day to day shop organization and parts stocking.
Role Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and complete repairs on trucks and trailers
- Perform routine maintenance on trucks and trailers
- Communicate repairs needed and resulting downtime to foremen
- Order, pick up and deliver parts
- Perform repairs at the shop and/or outdoor work sites
- Maintain electronic record of repairs, parts/materials used and time spent
- Ensure in-use trucks and trailers have a valid inspection certificate in accordance with the Saskatchewan Periodic Motor Vehicle Inspection (PMVI) program (inspection is performed by an accredited 3rd party)
- Organize and stock shop with frequently required parts
The Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of experience working as a truck and transport mechanic (Journeyperson Truck and Transport Mechanic Certification is preferred)
- Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence (Class 1A would be an asset)
- Meet safety requirements and adhere to safety policies
- Capable of using technology in the workplace (e.g. mobile apps for safety program, equipment maintenance records and time entry)
- Prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision
- Pass a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol Screen
