Summer Student JobThe Town of La Ronge Parks & Recreation Department manages and maintains six community parks, one cemetery, numerous green space and recreation facilities.
Detailed Job Description
The successful candidate shall:
Report directly to the Parks & Recreation Manager for the Town of La Ronge and the Lead Hand in the Parks & Recreation Department.
Gain experience in park maintenance, facility maintenance and sanitation operations.
Monday thru Friday 7:00am 4:00pm (lunch break 11:45am 1:00pm)
Hourly wage $15.50/hour
Job location La Ronge, Sask.
General duties include:
Turf Maintenance (cutting, fertilizing, etc.)
General equipment maintenance.
Tasks related to open/close of parks & facilities.
Grounds Maintenance (flower beds, ball diamonds, litter, tables, benches)
Arena: Ice Making/Maintenance, janitorial, shift assistance.
Building/structures maintenance (play equipment, fencing, arena repairs, etc.)
Perform other related duties as required.
Required Student Skills & Competencies:
Must be 16 years of age and hold a valid Saskatchewan drivers license
Punctual, energetic and self-motivated individual
Submit a criminal record check
Able to work unsupervised in certain instances
Works well as part of a team and independently
Knowledge of the community of La Ronge and Area
Comfortable in dealing with the public
First Aid & CPR certification is an asset
Transportation/Travel Information
