Description

We are a family practice located in the vibrant community of The Greens in Regina. We are looking for highly motivated and dedicated *Phlebotomists/Lab Assistants/Lab Technicians
*

Must have the ability to multitask; a desire to learn new skills; and work in a team environment. Also the candidate will need to be proficient in English and have excellent customer service skills, and EMR computer skills. *

*

Your responsibilities

    Prepares patient for specimen procurement (e.g., identification, consent, medical condition, instruction of procedure).
    Enters requisition data and prints bar code labels.
    Collects, labels and prepares samples according to priority.
    Completes requisitions for testing, enters patient data.
    Prepare and package for external transport.
    Assesses specimen integrity and or adequacy.
    Participates in Quality Assurance/Quality Control programs as required
    Maintains inventory.
    Ensures proper disposal of specimens, reagents and biohazardous waste, as per policies and procedures
    Ensures all work complies with Infection Control guidelines

    providing quality customer service
    registering patients on arrival

    answering telephone, office and email

    Patient care and physician support as needed.

Qualifications

    Previous experience in Canada at a blood lab or clinical setting drawing blood.

    Strong administrative skills,
    Friendly, professional, and knowledgeable with clients/patients, quick learner
    Proficient with computers
    Phlebotomy Certification and/or experience required
    Current Police Background Check
    CPR / First Aid Certification

Job Type: Part-time
