Responsible for managing the performance of assigned product categories, vendors and skus in efforts to maximize category sales growth and profitability. Core activities include: Category management through focused efforts to drive Sourced item sales and gross margin through, analytics, sales presentations, product training support, collaborating with vendors on marketing events, and managing supplier performance expectations.
Role Responsibilities:
Category management to maximize sales growth, providing optimal customer solutions through preferred partners products, and providing strong ROI.
Maximize gross margin for assigned categories via marketing program negotiations and enhancements.
Develop, implement, and encourage line and category product training programs for sales, along with the assistance of vendor reps and specialists. This includes coordinating training sessions in GSMs and cuttings and encouraging the use and development of online tools such as Sysco 360.
Support sales with respect to customer Business Reviews and joint sales calls with our Marketing Associates.
Drive sales of sourced, Sysco brand, Revolution and Regional Marketing partners lines, and promote the Sysco Rewards loyalty program and associated products.
Develop and enhance strong vendor relationships through daily interaction, business reviews and focusing on mutually beneficial activities for category sales growth.
Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements:
College Diploma or University Degree in Commerce, Marketing or related field.
CPP (Certified Professional Purchaser) designation is desirable.
At least five years experience in a Marketing, Purchasing or Sales role is required.
Sysco Systems and Intermediate level MS Excel Skills are assets.
Note: Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
