Responsibilities of the Counselor
Length of term: 1 year
Position:

This is professional work through the Estevan Family Resource Centre Inc. providing crisis counseling and coordination of services.

Education/Certification:

-Bachelors Degree in Social Work or Psychology or closely related to this assignment.  -Preference will be given to those with experience in counseling work in a crisis intervention or clinical setting; or any equivalent combination of relevant training and experience.
-Belong to a Professional Membership or willing to become a member of the Saskatchewan Social Workers Association or related.

-Work collaboratively with the Executive Director following the mandate of the charity.
-Interview, evaluate and provide crisis intervention counseling in person or by phone.
-Assessment and clinical judgment of crisis situation.
-Provide follow-up contact with clients.
-Provide general information to clients.
-Coordinate and deliver agency services.
-Coordinates referrals to appropriate agency for individual cases.
-Liaise with community support programs and services.
-Family/Teen Group workshops/programs.
-Grant writing related to counseling position and sustainability.
