The Saskatchewan Food Industry Development Centre has an immediate opening for a Food Laboratory Technician at our location on Schuyler Street. The position will support the Food Centre and their clients in conducting analytical and food quality laboratory testing. It involves day to day operation of laboratory equipment and a wide variety of food processing equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience working in laboratories, keeping good records and enjoys delivering quality results to clients. This candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of different projects, give input and expected to provide excellent customer service.
Recent graduates of a Food Science program or applicants with a Sask. Polytechnic or equivalent Laboratory Analysis Certificate and/or previous food industry/food manufacturing experience will all be eligible. The applicant should be self-motivated with a desire to learn. Attention to detail, problem solving skills critical thinking, good organizational skills and knowledge of Microsoft applications are assets to this position. The ideal candidate will have a professional attitude and capacity to communicate well in a fast-paced environment.
