Description

We are looking for an experienced Shipper/Receiver to perform a variety of shipping and receiving tasks. Verifies materials received are as ordered and routes incoming items to appropriate departments/locations. Responsible for performing repetitive tasks related to preparing items for shipment and the receiving of vendor shipments.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares shipments for conveyance by packing items to ensure safe delivery.
- Checks items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain appropriate quantities, destination, and routing are correct.
- Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip to purchase order to verify the accuracy of shipment
- Inspects shipments for damages and or defects and notifies purchasing personnel
- Sorts, counts, packages, labels, unpacks and logs inventory
- May operate dolly, pallet jack, and forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment. May operate shrink-wrap machine
- Follows established policies and procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety and environmental standards
Qualifications:
- Ability to read and follow written directions and understand basic shop drawings
- Knowledge of measuring tools such as tape measure, ruler, square, compass
- Able to use tools and machines with an attention to detail
- Able to understand and follow safety procedures
- Must have dexterity and able to lift heavy objects
- Good understanding of math and quality control principles
- Must have outstanding punctuality and attendance
- Ability to work according to production schedules and deadlines
- Must possess strong problem solving and communication skills as well as the ability to handle changing demands
