Description

Brandt is currently seeking a Tooling Engineer to work with Design Engineering, Purchasing and Operations to optimize product quality and ensure design for manufacturing methodologies are implemented from concept to implementation. In addition to using 3D CAD to design tooling, the Tooling Engineer will be responsible for ensuring all manufacturing alternatives are weighed so that product quality and cost are optimized.

Responsibilities of the Tooling Engineer will also include:

Using 3D CAD to design tooling and fixtures to support manufacturing
Designing and developing robotic welding fixtures to support the Brandt automation group
Working on optimization projects in accordance with lean manufacturing principles
Assisting in quoting, design, troubleshooting and development as required
Producing tooling that meet safety, quality, productivity and cost requirements
Documenting process methods and developing standard operating procedures

Required Skills:
Knowledge of commonly used practices and equipment used in manufacturing
Experience in machine design and 3D CAD systems, preferably SolidWorks
Strong knowledge of metal fabrication fixtures and concepts with ability to instruct others.
Strong project management skills
Excellent interpersonal  and communication skills  written and verbal
Must be familiar with quality and lean principles
Must be self-motivated
Must be well organized with multi-tasking abilities
Meticulous attention to detail
Excellent work ethic

Required Experience:

Mechanical technologist diploma or engineering degree
Minimum of 3 years of design or manufacturing engineering experience
