We are currently recruiting for an Education Assistant Certificate Program Instructor who will work as part of a team dedicated to the success of students. The Education Assistant Certificate Program Instructor is responsible for delivering the Education Assistant Program to adult students registered in the program. Areas of instruction may include, but are not limited to: Culture and Diversity; Interpersonal Communications; Supporting Instruction 1 and 2; Employability Skills; Child and Adolescent Development Roles and Responsibilities; Behavioral Principles and Practices; Studies of Exceptionality A and B; Family Dynamics; Basic Care Skills; and Crisis Prevention.
Additional duties include: classroom management; taking attendance and submitting on a regular basis; monitoring student progress and submitting reports on a regular basis; and other duties as assigned.
The minimal qualifications for this position are: a Bachelor of Education Degree; a minimum of 2 years recent/relevant experience; effective communication and interpersonal skills; the ability to work with adults in a cross-cultural educational setting; and an effective instructional ability. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. This program is accredited through Sask. Polytechnic, instructors must meet the requirements of the accrediting institute.
